How Sarkodie and Mugeez Rescued Mr Eazi From Early Career Setback

Global Afrobeats entrepreneur Mr Eazi recently reflected on how generosity from Ghanaian rap juggernaut Sarkodie and R2Bees icon Mugeez saved his budding career from disaster as a student event organizer.

In a revealing interview, Eazi detailed his ambitious attempts promoting shows and awards ceremonies while in university. He shared an embarrassing story of one high-profile campus concert going awry when expected headliner Wande Coal failed to show, fueling debt rumors.

However, Eazi explained that despite not receiving his full performance fees upfront, Sarkodie graciously agreed to still hit the stage. "He came on and saved me by performing. Mugeez also jumped up to kill it," Eazi stressed. "That's why Mugeez is more than a friend now - he's family."

He estimates owing Sarkodie around $2500 at the time in 2013, which Mugeez also opted to overlook. Their good faith support built loyal friendship and creative collaborations in later years as Eazi flourished from Mo'Hits Records affiliate to Atlantic Records global star.

"I was dead broke organizing those events as a student. But Sark and Mugeez looked out based on mutual respect," Eazi revealed. It's a lesson in uncommon kindness that he continues paying forward as an investor backing African tech startups and young talent like his emPawa program.

So while Eazi now enjoys streaming billions and running successful business ventures, he remains humbly grateful to the Ghanaian hitmakers who gave him grace early on. Their quiet generosity kept his vision alive until he could properly reward it years later!
