"I'll Take TikTok Over Nigeria" - Bullgod Urges Ghana Stars to Prioritize Social Promotion

Veteran artist manager Bullgod had some straightforward advice for Ghana's musicians looking to expand their reach - take advantage of social media over wasting time in Nigeria.

In a recent radio interview on Daybreak Hitz, Bullgod responded to comments made by Nigerian blogger Adesope Olajide, who said Ghanaian artists should regularly promote themselves in Nigeria. But the outspoken pundit pushed back on that idea.

"If I have money for promotion I will go and find a TikTok office and pay them for my promo," Bullgod proclaimed. "There is no need to go to Lagos, we do not have the time. We should rather go to the office of TikTok and market our songs there."

Bullgod argued that in today's digital age, online platforms provide direct access to international audiences. As he asserted, "everything is digital now" so physical appearances are not always necessary.

With afrobeats globalizing through viral social media, targeting platforms like TikTok for music promotion simply makes more practical sense to Bullgod. It potentially offers Ghanaian talents wider visibility instantly rather than having to travel abroad.

The provocative entertainment commentator is no stranger to expressing unfiltered opinions. And his stance here tries to shake artists out of clinging to old models. While Nigeria still drives afrobeats' popularity, Bullgod believes relying on strategic social media engagement could save Ghana's stars time, money and energy.

Whether you agree or disagree, Bullgod presents an interesting debate - should Ghana's music promotion now prioritize digital first? His answer seems pretty clear. For him, it's all about that TikTok clout over the Lagos run-around.

  1. I side with Bulldog. Social media should be used to our benefit. Good point there.
