Snoop Dogg Reveals He's Not Actually Quitting Smoking

Earlier this week, rap legend Snoop Dogg made headlines when he announced on Instagram that he was giving up smoking. However, it turns out his statement was not entirely true.

Snoop took to Facebook to clarify that he is not in fact quitting smoking - the declaration was part of a promotional partnership with fire pit brand Solo Stove.

"I'm done with smoke. I'm going smokeless with Solo Stove. #ad," Snoop wrote in the Facebook post.

The original Instagram announcement had stated "After much consideration and conversation with my family, I've decided to give up smoke." This led to media outlets widely reporting that Snoop was shockingly ending his decades-long affinity for marijuana.

But this week's context reveals it was just a clever advertising pitch playing into Snoop's stoner persona. By teaming up with Solo Stove for "smokeless" fire pits, Snoop created a viral moment that had fans and media outlets fooled.

While some fans expressed disappointment that it was just a marketing stunt, others saw the humor in it. As one fan commented: "That laugh at the end says it all. Haha 😆 great promo stunt Snoop!! 🔥🔥".

Other reactions included:

"He said smokeless, snoop still gonna get high just smokeless think about it.."

"I knew it was a publicity stunt He’s promoting a “smokeless stove” excellent promo for them!"

The rapper, known for his cannabis advocacy and weed-focused business ventures, has built his reputation largely around smoking. So the idea of him giving it up entirely seemed unbelievable to most.

While some may be disappointed the announcement was just viral marketing, Snoop succeeded in garnering massive attention for his partnership with Solo Stove. The hip hop icon remains as savvy as ever when it comes to merging his personal brand with promotional content.

So fear not Snoop fans - it appears Snoop Dogg isn't abandoning weed just yet. The rap legend is still "rolling down the street, smoking indo" as usual.
